If you search for casting calls in Florida you will hit two kinds of results: real auditions posted by studios, theme parks, and cruise lines - and an entire industry of sites that charge you to see them, charge you to "audition," or charge your kid for a "talent evaluation." Here is the rule that protects you: real casting never charges the performer to be seen.
Where the real calls come from
Legitimate casting in Florida flows from a small set of official sources: Disney Auditions (its own site, free), Universal Orlando auditions, Carnival and the other cruise lines' entertainment pages, regional theatre audition boards, and state film-office hotlines. If a call did not originate from one of those, treat it as unverified.
The red flags, quickly
Upfront fees of any kind. "Registration" or "background check" charges. A guaranteed role. Pressure to decide today. A "casting director" who contacts you first on social media. Photography packages you must buy from their photographer. Any one of these is enough to walk away.
One free board that only lists official sources
We built TalentScout because our own kids wanted to audition and the search results were a minefield. It is a free casting-call board that lists calls from official sources only - parks, studios, cruise lines - plus a short education track that teaches you to spot the scams yourself. The board is free and stays free.
